Join our team as the Emergency Medicine Clerkship Director and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of Emergency Physicians! This faculty position provides academic, clinical, and administrative leadership for the Emergency Medicine core clerkship, ensuring students receive high-quality, consistent educational experiences across all affiliated clinical sites. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee curriculum design, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead faculty recruitment, retention, and development.
  • Collaborate with hospital partners, emergency departments, and urgent care systems to expand training opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and institutional policies.
  • Mentor and support students, fostering their interest in emergency medicine careers.
  • Supervise faculty and evaluate clinical sites to maintain educational excellence.
  • Participate in the Emergency Medicine Advisory Council and drive continuous program improvement. 
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification:
  • DO/MD degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certified in Emergency Medicine (AOA or ABMS).
  • Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted medical license in the State of Utah.
Experience:
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in emergency medicine.
  • Prior teaching experience with medical students or residents required.
  • Experience in curriculum development, faculty supervision, or site coordination preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills within clinical or academic environments.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with hospitals, health systems, and emergency care partners.
  • Skilled in performance analysis, quality improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to osteopathic principles, student success, and high-quality emergency medicine education.
Appointment and Evaluation:
  • Appointment is for a renewable one-year term, reviewed annually by the Assistant Dean for Clinical Education. Evaluation will be based on teaching effectiveness, student outcomes, faculty recruitment and retention, site development, and contributions to the College’s mission.
