This position provides academic and clinical leadership for the OB/GYN core clerkship, ensuring high-quality educational experience in women’s health across all affiliated sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all aspects of the OB/GYN clerkship, aligning curriculum with institutional objectives, national benchmarks, and accreditation standards.
- Manage resources to ensure clinical capacity, preceptor availability, and instructional materials for students.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Education team and Clerkship Coordinator for smooth operations and compliance.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain clinical faculty; expand and support clinical training sites.
- Oversee curriculum design, assessment, and continuous improvement, integrating osteopathic principles and interprofessional collaboration.
- Serve as a mentor and point of contact for students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise faculty, conduct site visits, and provide feedback to ensure teaching excellence.
- Participate in the OB/GYN Advisory Council and drive ongoing program enhancements.
Education and Certification
- DO/MD degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOA or ABMS).
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted medical license in the State of Utah.
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Prior teaching experience with medical students or residents required.
- Experience in curriculum development, faculty supervision, or clinical site management preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills within academic or clinical environments.
- Strong ability to develop and sustain partnerships with physicians, hospitals, and clinics.
- Capacity to analyze student performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to build consensus and motivate faculty.
- Commitment to osteopathic principles, inclusive learning, and the advancement of women’s health.
- Appointment is for a renewable one-year term, reviewed annually by the Assistant Dean for Clinical Education. Evaluation will be based on teaching effectiveness, student performance, faculty and site development, and contributions to the College’s mission.
