This leadership role provides academic and clinical oversight of the OB/GYN core clerkship, ensuring a high-quality, student-centered learning experience across all affiliated clinical sites. The Director collaborates closely with clinical partners and internal teams to deliver a rigorous, compliant, and innovative curriculum aligned with institutional goals and national standards.

This is a renewable one-year appointment, reviewed annually. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the OB/GYN clerkship, including curriculum design, assessment, and continuous improvement
- Ensure alignment with accreditation requirements, national benchmarks, and osteopathic principles
- Manage clinical teaching resources, including site capacity, preceptor engagement, and instructional materials
- Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain clinical faculty, support growth of high-quality training sites
- Partner with the Clinical Education team and Clerkship Coordinator to ensure smooth operations and compliance
- Serve as a mentor and advocate for students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Conduct site visits, supervise faculty, and provide constructive feedback to promote teaching excellence
- Participate in the OB/GYN Advisory Council and contribute to ongoing program innovation
Education and Certification
- DO/MD degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOA or ABMS).
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted medical license in the State of Utah.
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Prior teaching experience with medical students or residents required.
- Experience in curriculum development, faculty supervision, or clinical site management preferred.
