Adjunct Faculty Clerkship Director or Co‑Director by Specialty

Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine invites applications for Part‑Time Adjunct Faculty serving as Clerkship Directors or Co‑Directors for the following core clinical clerkships, based on specialty expertise and experience:

  • Family Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • Pediatrics
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology

These key faculty leadership roles provide academic, clinical, and administrative oversight for core clerkships and are essential to ensuring high‑quality, consistent clinical education across affiliated training sites. The Clerkship Director/Co‑Director plays a critical role in aligning clinical learning experiences with institutional goals, COCA accreditation standards, and the educational needs of medical students.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Administration
Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the assigned clerkship. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and clinical education requirements. Collaborate closely with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education to oversee faculty, clinical sites, resources, and evaluation systems.

Curriculum & Assessment
Maintain, evaluate, and continuously enhance the clerkship curriculum in alignment with national standards and osteopathic principles. Monitor student performance and outcomes, implement data‑driven improvements, and participate in teaching activities, including select in‑person instruction for students preparing to enter the rotation.

Student Support & Mentorship
Foster a supportive and professional learning environment. Address student concerns, provide mentorship, and support learners exploring career pathways within the assigned specialty.

Faculty & Clinical Site Oversight
Assist with the recruitment, supervision, and development of adjunct faculty. Conduct site visits, support clinical partners, and ensure consistent educational quality and student supervision across all affiliated training locations.

Outreach & Professional Engagement
Build and sustain relationships with hospitals, clinics, and community partners. Represent the institution within regional clinical networks and relevant professional organizations.


Required Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Terminal degree (DO or MD) in the relevant specialty.
  • Board certification through AOA or ABMS.

Experience

  • Prior teaching experience with medical students and/or resident physicians
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership experience in clinical education or academic medicine
